Fall is here!

The coolest kids at the pumpkin patch... Seriously, how obnoxiously adorable are they? I think I'm jealous of my own kids. To have that joy and confidence in who you are and what you want and everything you do is 100% you. I want that back. I had it when I was that little. What is it about growing up that takes some of that away?

Devyn was all about rocking her yellow DVF for Baby Gap sunnies... Again, MUST BE NICE to be 1 years old and have better accessories than Mommy. (Kidding, they were on sale for like $8. They are only marginally cheaper than my $12 Tarjay Mossimo shades!)

I was in such a foul mood this weekend. Is there such a thing as a fall funk? Is it even fall if I've only worn long sleeves for one day? I don't know what's going on with me butI feel a little depressed, a little disappointed in everything going on around me, a lot exhausted, just moody and not myself. My mom called today saying the weather was perfect and would I like to take the kids to a pumpkin patch? I looked outside - damn, no rain -- and cried for a few minutes, then decided yes an outing was JUST what I needed to feel better.

We headed out to Flower Mound, just 40 minutes northwest of Dallas. Sure enough even Cade noticed there was not a cloud in the sky. Perfect weather! Parking was only $5, and bounce houses and petting zoo were free. Mom treated the kids to a train barrel tracker pull ride. They LOVED it!

Nothing like good ol' fashioned hillbilly fun!  I fell in love with my camera again. I've been so busy with work and life that I haven't picked it up in a couple of weeks (a long time for me).  What is it about getting behind the lens that is so engaging? I love it!  Mom took this pic so I will be able to prove to my kids that Mommy exists! Thanks Momma!

Devyn was so excited about the animals. She kept calling "Hiiiiiii!" to the goats and pigs.

We didn't buy the feed, Cade had already improvised and discovered that goats like hay/grass.
Nick and I are always amazed at how savvy this boy is. We did the mini hay maze and he had a blast. He did quickly figure out that he could jump on top of the hay "walls" and walk his way out on top of the walls.  Crazy little man!

He insisted on wearing his super-Cade cape (from Chuy's Tex Mex). Here he is, keeping us safe from harm. No bad guys here!

Sweet Devy girl kissed 3 or 4 pumpkins good-bye as we left.
Flower Mound pumpkin patch? Success!!!
